Art Battle 2017 Canadian Championship Photo Recap

On July 27th in Toronto’s historic Great Hall, 16 of the best live artists from across Canada came together to compete in the spectacular Finale of Art Battle Canada’s 2016/2017 season. Qualifying from 10 provinces and more than 150 events, these artists truly earned their way into the ultimate tournament of live competitive painting –  the 2017 Art Battle Canadian Championship.

Armed only with their skill, courage and brushes, these artists had only 20 minutes to transform a blank canvas into a masterpiece. As they worked, the crowd cheered for the competitors and moved around the easels, closely watching each artist’s creative process. At the end of each round, the audience voted democratically for which artists would move on to the Final Round and paint again for title of 2017 Art Battle Canadian Champion.
