Join us Saturday September 14th, Noon to 3pm at the City Market Downtown for the first Art Battle Edmonton! Some of Edmonton’s best emerging painters will take part in this event, we are so excited to see the city represented at the easel!
Art Battle 64 is a FREE event, thank you to the City Market Downtown for hosting us live on the streets of Edmonton! The action starts at noon on 104th Street close to Japser Avenue. There will be 3 rounds of painting, 20 minutes each with live audience voting after each round. The winners of the first and second round will paint again in the 3rd (Final) round to determine who will be named Edmonton’s first Art Battle Champion, earning a $100 cash prize and a spot in the Art Battle Alberta Championships later this season.
This is the best time of year to visit the farmers market!

Live Competitive Painting! As the audience circles around the centre-staged easels, Art Battle competitors have 20 minutes per round to create the best work possible, using acrylic paint on canvas. Using only brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements, artists work freestyle, with no reference materials, and the theme is open. The audience votes to decide who takes home the title of Art Battle Champion. All works created at Art Battle are auctioned at the event. Art Battle Canada events in the 2012/13 season attracted thousands of spectators and saw more than 350 painters step to the easel in competitions from Vancouver all the way to Halifax. The exciting and dynamic live event continues to inspire the celebration of art, creativity and community. Many new cities will be added this year including Victoria, Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Charlottetown, Fredericton and more.Follow us on Twitter @artbattlecanada and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/
