Lately it’s mainly been watercolor, but acrylic will always have their heart. Since being in Portland they have ventured beyond just indoor and enjoying a bigger canvas when possible.
Aside from a few live paintings and public art this is the first art battle they’ve ever been a part of and look forward to a new challenge.

Tomie is back! Tomie is a tattoo artist from Woodland, WA, and has been creating her whole life. Her art is a vibrant psychedelic-inspired expression of soul, human experiences, emotions, and life filtered through her my own perception.

Mikal is a silly little guy who creates art about all the silly little things that bring them joy. They dabble in a wide variety of crafts and artistic practices but has deeper roots in illustrative art using traditional materials such as markers, watercolors, and painty-things to evoke whimsy on paper and canvas.

Bird is a Portland artist specializing in painting, printmaking, tattooing, and murals. His work is inspired by the Cascadian region, with naturalistic and apocalyptic themes. As a native/queer artist and activist, Bird uses art to drive social and environmental issues.

Katrina is a Portland-based tattoo artist specializing in color work. She has a background as a fine art painting and has a regular practice of figure drawing and Plein Air painting. With her background as a tattoo artist, she approaches artwork with a unique lens. Her skillset includes oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, gauche, and charcoal.

Justin grew up in the PNW and finds most of his inspiration from being in nature and exploring the psychedelic realms. When someone looks at his art, Justin wants them to feel the adventure of his experiences. His mediums of choice are acrylic, aerosol and paint pens.

Rae finds themselves being pulled into spontaneous painting. They began painting in July 2022 and started teaching watercolor courses for following May. While watercolor is their main love, Rae can veer into gouache, ink, pastels, and general multimedia.

I'm stoked to take part in ArtBattle! We don't see many watercolor artists participate and I'm excited to show y'all what we can do. I'll be loading my squirt bottles and sharpening my palette knives in preparation!

Madelynn is a self-taught, semi-realism and surrealism artist from Bend, OR. After working for years with practice and dedication, she is ready to share her art on a wider basis in hopes that someone will resonate with her pieces.

Stefania, born in Brazil, is a representational artist, currently focused on figurative oil paintings. She started painting in 2019 and found that she increasingly needed to paint. Before embracing herself as an artist, she practiced law for over a decade.
