Confirmed Competitors

Jordan Tarrant

Instagram: @nawkturnart

Jordan, an Art Battle fan, is competing for the first time! His art is dedicated to reflecting the power you have to manifest, freedom, happiness, and inner peace. He highlights iconic leaders in humanity, individuals who harnessed the strengths within themselves to bring upon new ideas and pave the way for a higher consciousness./sf

From the artist:

I’ve been watching art battles for a decade now and have entered several times. I’m honored to finally get a chance to compete. I started doing live paintings in 2007 with the late great Gluttonius Monk 7, since then have painted at several events and concerts. I enjoy the process and collective energy these events bring. I’m stoked to see what other artists create in the moment and see the creativity unfold. Check more of my work out at jordantarrant.com

Isaiah Mulz

Instagram: Isaiah_Mulz

Isaiah has been painting since he took a course at the local junior college. He has since had his art shown in galleries all over Portland and other states. He is a portrait artist that makes paintings in oil and cold wax medium. Most of his inspiration comes from living with epilepsy and surviving a brain tumor./sf

From the artist:

I look forward to meeting and competing with all the other artists. Let’s paint!

SketchKari

Originally from NJ but pulled by the beauty of the PNW, Kari is a profoundly deaf painter. She has been painting since she was young. She loves to immerse herself in the outdoors so many of her paintings reflect that. Her painting style is very loose and colorful./sf

From the artist:

Hiya! I’m just happy to be here.

ZackleMoore

ZackleMoore has been self-taught up to this point but recently went back to school to learn more about art. He loves painting with anything he can get his hands on but especially loves spray paints, inks, watercolors and charcoal./sf

Kyle Sprague

Hi.

Matt O’Tousa

Instagram: mattotousa

Matt's work plays with traditional notions of composition and color expression. It tends to explore spaces: what was there already, what of us is there, and what isn't really there at all.

Lately, he's been thinking about doors./sf

From the artist:

When you look for shapes in the clouds, the shapes in the clouds are looking for you

Lyons

Instagram: Jamal lyons

Lyons specializes in black and gray portraits as well as realistic animals and landscapes. He considers art an extension of his empath ability. Lyons has been drawing since he was 9 years old and immediately fell in love. /sf

Rachel Rusenko

Instagram: rusenkoart

Rachel's work is a totally unplanned stream of consciousness abstraction often utilizing intricate linework, sometimes color, sometimes black and white. They believe that creating is a process of letting go and allowing what is. In addition to painting and drawing, Rachel also designs logos, builds, does murals, sings and writes./sf

From the artist:

I am so thrilled to be competing in Art Battle this Saturday!! I can’t wait to harness the electricity of the room and channel our collective energies!
