Join us for a Saturday night full of community and creation!

Join us for a wonderful evening of creativity and community, a live painting tournament showcasing local artists and connecting Grand Rapids to towns and cities around the world!

Come watch as artists transform blank canvases into beautiful pieces of art in 3 rounds of just 20 minutes, and then help vote to determine the winner of the event! All artwork will also be available for silent auction.

Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

Matthew Miller is a visionary artist from Detroit Michigan. He has enjoyed art his whole life and started painting regularly back in 2012 when he was in the marine corps; he felt it was an escape from the everyday stress he endured. As a child his mom would take him to Spencer’s where he was influenced by the psychedelic black light mushroom posters in which he started to draw hot pink and aqua blue mushrooms. Throughout high school he was always doodling the eye of providence on his homework assignments and In his notebook. These are incorporated into some of his work now./sf
