Jo Betancourt, born in Hato Mayor del Rey, Dominican Republic, is a painter and mixed‑media artist. He reworks pop culture through portraits of celebrities, models, and politicians, layering ink, spray, and brush for pieces that feel both soft and raw. Kervens, a calm and reserved artist from Haiti, began creating art in childhood through self-teaching and mentorship. Influenced by his activist uncle Jean, he came to see art as a powerful tool for expression and advocacy. After moving to Canada in 1994, he pursued automotive body repair, later transitioning to tattooing in 2014 under mentor Don Bouchard. In 2020, Kervens opened his own tattoo studio.
Laurent, inspired by expressionists like Soutine, Chagall, and Modigliani, as well as Catalan artists such as Dalí and Miró, embraces a non-conformist artistic approach. In his quest to suggest rather than show, he uses a minimal number of strokes to evoke feeling and emotion. His work features sharp contrasts and complementary hues, with primary colors mixed directly on the canvas to maintain spontaneity in color and texture. Layers of paint applied with a knife create rich textures that reveal underlying pigments, giving his portraits a scratched, life-worn appearance.
Notoxy is a self‑taught artist inspired by graffiti, urban energy, bold colors, shadows, and dynamic perspectives. His spontaneous style comes alive through aerosol, acrylic, and markers, making each piece original and vibrant. Known for his versatility, he moves easily between murals, canvases, and clothing, applying his colors to all kinds of surfaces.
