Confirmed Competitors

diana polizeno

Instagram: Polizeno

Diana would say her work is first and foremost an active search for what could have been; time and its passage are filtered and inversed through stratigraphic mediums. To step back and view the larger sense of Diana Polizeno’s body of work we find there are a few common threads that emerge simply and delightfully. Ba in fine arts from UQAM, line and drawing are at the root of Diana’s artistic exploration – we also note that sometimes she begins with a black canvas. Master of her craft, Diana begins with dozens of interlacing lines, full of dizzying paths and searching strokes. The line is alive and from its voyage from one end to another of the represented figure, a duality of existence is created./sf

From the artist:

This Peuple DancEncre / DancInk Folks collection is inspired by my love for Swing and Jive dancing!
I try to express with animated paint brush strokes the dynamism of the dancers and the energy that they generate during their dance! Being an avid dancer myself, I have a heightened understanding of the type of motion and poses performed in action. The beauty of this collection is made by the precision of the line and the optimal use of each of those lines drawn: it is this synthesis and apparent gesture that expresses the elegance and dynamism of those who devote themselves fully to their passion.

Hello crew, thank you for coming tonight. The energy of people watching your art process is electrifying and fuels ideas and creativity. Like a yoga class: not the same alone or with a bunch of people vibin’ together. So tonight, you are part of the process, and your are part of the art, interfering with it by your presence: choose what you want to bring into this collective moment.
