JJ is a painter inspired by the mood, energy, and rhythm of house music. He began painting after a friend encouraged him to enter an Art Battle—likely because he couldn’t stop talking about it—and that push became a turning point. Two years later, JJ continues to chase that same creative spark, developing a style defined by bold colors, sharp transitions, and a pop-art edge, while recently exploring taped landscapes that balance clean geometry with striking contrasts.
Julia is a high school art teacher and lifelong, multi-passionate artist who loves creating vibrant and colorful artworks that spark joy and wonder in viewers. She enjoys painting furry friends, expressive portraits, sci-fi futurism, and more!
Kareem is an artist and aspiring architect focused on gaining experiences that will prepare him for a future in the architectural field. His work explores a personal balance between novelty and necessity, often featuring impressionistic elements, thoughtful composition, and expressive use of color. Passionate about painting, Kareem continues to strengthen his artistic voice through art battles and showcase events.

Laura Perreault of Inspired by Life Art Studio is an Ottawa artist painting interpretive landscapes that blend place and emotion. Inspired by kayak outings and local wanderings, her art celebrates everyday beauty. At Art Battle, Laura thrives on the energy of creating in the moment and, most of all, the sense of connection—whether with fellow artists, the crowd, or Ottawa’s close-knit creative community that gathers again and again at events across the city.
Mandy’s art explores the connection between people and the places they inhabit. Her landscapes convey the calm and strength of nature, while her portraits reveal the individuality and soul of each person she paints. Through this dialogue between subject and setting, Mandy captures the essence of both humanity and the natural world.

Melanie is a graphic designer and cosplay creator based in Ottawa, ON, with a passion for art. When she’s not drawing original characters, she’s often inventing new cryptids. She is also a proud girl mom and dog mom.
Michel-Antoine Renaud is an artist from Gatineau-Ottawa with over 25 years of experience in painting. Renowned for his vibrant colors and striking compositions, his work has been showcased in numerous regional venues over the past decade. In 2024, Michel-Antoine proudly represented Ottawa at the national finals of the Art Battle Canada competition in Toronto, continuing to captivate art enthusiasts with his distinctive style.
