Hi everyone! I’m happy to be part of this Art Battle. For me, it’s first of all a challenge to myself — to go beyond my comfort zone and create from pure energy and emotion. I work with a variety of techniques and love exploring different ways of expressing ideas. I also teach children and adults, helping them discover the flow of creativity and experience the joy of making art. This battle is not only a personal challenge, but also a chance to share my passion and connect with others through the power of live creation.
I’m a 25 year old artist known as “Blanc Phase” (pronounced Blank Phase) based in Auckland, NZ originally from Hawkes Bay. I have dabbled in a wide range of arts. From music, fashion, poetry, dancing and most of all art/painting. My artistic style is like any other artists. Just a long work progress. Influenced by many, hoping to influence many more. I'm a self taught artist from Scotland that has called Aotearoa home for the past 7 years. A recent first time mum rediscoving my artistic style between feeding, loving and nurturing my little boy. I want to take part in art battle to prove that no matter were you are at in your life journey there is always room to express yourself.
I like all things art. I’ve been drawn to creativity since a young age and have always found it a fulfilling pursuit. It’s kind of hard to sum up my style because it changes so often, I recently had an exhibition that was mainly portraits, but now I’m getting more into landscapes and plein air painting. I try to keep the importance more on the process than the result but as a recovering perfectionist it’s not always easy. The main project I’m working on at the moment is an art brand called Caught By The Dawn which includes art, clothing and art lessons. Follow along if you’re interested in the journey!
I'm 50 years old! I've been drawing since I was three. I've had a long creative hiatus, but I've always sought out beauty around me. I know that even the most beautiful things always have a little flaw. This is what makes beauty inimitable! It is impossible to get the same result! When I paint, I pass my thoughts, my desires, my love through them! They are like children, imbued with joy and love for life. I think my mission is to give people joy and love for life!!!
As a self taught portrait artist as one of her 5 jobs !! - I try to put pen / paintbrush to paper on a daily basis. Any thing and every thing inspires me but particularly colour. Having done an Interior Design degree some 15 yrs I knew colour theory is really my forte. But also classic black speaks volumes in its simplicity. I believe everyone has a different colour aura they subconsciously convey. Mine is purple and gold. Welcome to my aura.
I began painting when I was fifteen, and it has been an inseparable part of my life ever since. My artistic journey has evolved through an exploration of the human form, animals, and faces ~ subjects that have always captivated me for their emotional depth and expression. Lately, I’ve been drawn toward abstraction, finding freedom in colour, movement, and intuition. Bold, bright colours are central to my work, reflecting my energy and love for vibrancy. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts at Elam, where I continue to experiment, challenge myself, and fully immerse in the world of art ~ I truly live and breathe it.
