Please consider the following requirements when filming this section:

Review the questions in advance so you are not taken by surprise.
We have provided some handy answer prompts as a starting point.

Situate yourself in front of your white canvas so that you are facing your camera/recording device straight on. The final video will be cropped to the dimensions of your canvas. Be sure that you are within this frame with space to move and talk while filming your interview.

Hit Record (to start streaming). When you are comfortably seated within your canvas frame, begin by saying the number of the question you will be answering in statement form, ie “Question One.”

Pause before answering, then using one of the bulleted statement forms, clearly speak your answer to the camera.

Ok now for the competition… some last tips:

For this online Battle you will be completing two twenty minute paintings. The online audience is welcome to vote and bid through the Art Battle app, available on iPhone and Android. Before you begin painting will need you to address the
audience:

This should be a total of 5 seconds maximum.

Step into the frame of your blank canvas and wave or address the audience as if you have just been announced at your easel.

Now out of the frame when finished to reveal a white canvas again.

Set your timer to 20 minutes. Place the device off camera but within view so that you are able to see the time left on the clock.

Hit play on the timer. It’s time to Paint!

Just like at live Battles, “brushes down” is at the 20 minute mark. When you hear your timer go off please step out of the frame completely. Allow your device to record for 1 minute after completion before stopping recording.
