He considers himself a whiteboard master and once the inking is done, will scan his work into Photoshop to give it some color, animation, and a little poem with voice acting.

Evelyne is a self-taught, mixed media, abstract, and oneiric painter living in Montreal. She has experimented with a wide variety of artistic disciplines such as juggling, photography, dance, special effects, makeup, jewelry and singing. However, she has always been particularly fond of painting.

Ariane is a 3D character artist for video games. While they mostly create digitally, they also enjoy drawing, painting and sculpting.

PG is a visual artist based in Calgary. She began an obsession with drawing realistic portraits in grade 4 after entering a drawing competition. Though she intermittently practices realism throughout the years, she stumbled upon the arts of brutalism and relief art, which currently heavily influence her style.

Cailey specializes in acrylic painting and drawing. She is always up for a challenge and likes to try new things. This is her third time competing and she loves the learning experience.

From a young age, Ettore has been honing his drawing skills. During his military service, Ettore had the opportunity to paint a monumental mural measuring 10 meters by 3 meters. In the years that followed, Ettore turned his passion into a profession, enriching spaces with his extraordinary artistry. During his journey, he also discovered a deep passion for the art of tattooing.

Kater's art transcends what most call "low brow" art. With a harsh yet comforting tone, its often described as a trippier Dr. Seuss. He has over 10,000 hours in using spray paint, and acrylic/brush. He also illustrates, paints murals, design clothes, makes-3d designs for toys, designs album covers, and has actually created a medium of my own, being the first person to create a saran-wrap mural.

At Brian's core is getting complex imagery and a sense of color---in black and white! He uses India ink and brush with minimal linework. However, he does have an incredible sense of color which he honed professionally as a background painter in animation. Additionally, Brian's work is expressive, with a strong line, and lot of charm and character.

Lubov is a Belarusian-born fine artist, who favors the malleable nature of oil painting. Drawing inspiration from the volatility of the human condition and the varied places she’s called home, Lubov’s subject matter fittingly ranges from the romantic rainy cityscapes of Toronto old town to the ethereal inner worlds of the soul.

Robbi Lee has created and sold his art since the age of 12. He has worked with many mediums of art including photo realistic paintings, pencil drawings and sculpture. Robbi Lee is known for being a fast painter and co-owns a local Thunder Bay small business with his fiancé, Zoey May, that they call Ernst Engraved ArtZ.

Melanie creates creatures, characters and cosplay. When she is not sketching her next D&D character, she is probably building a suit of armor in her basement. She gets creative through drawing, painting, digital art, illustration, and prop building/cosplay.

Elena, with an academic background, started with realism in classic techniques but her favorite remains oil painting because it gives her the full sensation of colors: texture, chroma, and glazing. Elena is fascinated with Leonardo Da Vinci as both a master and a scientist which led her to experiment with making paints and mediums.

Eric says his art is fun and colorful with a sense of liberation and self-expression. Eric's art is an exploration of color and textures, the feeling of letting go and having fun in the process. In addition to canvas painting, Eric also paints murals.

Colorful and vibrant, Michel-Antoine's art is mainly abstract. He enjoys creating multi-layered pieces with surprising details. He has been painting with acrylic since 1998 and made various exhibits in Ottawa-Gatineau mainly between 2012 and 2022.

Noel creates realism, black and white, mixed media, airbrush and digital art, though she is open to any art medium. Her art focuses on contrast, geometry, and surrealism.

Claire is a self-taught artist living in Brittany who started painting during the pandemic. She likes bold colors, busy scenes and transmitting joy through art. Before being a painter, Claire was a poet. Currently, she paints with (mostly) acrylic.

PincheMeL paints a mix of abstract and realism with a lot of colors. He enjoys drawing faces because he likes portraying emotion and evoking responses and thoughts from the viewer. PincheMeL and his family are all artists and are all self-taught. He also directly connects music to his art.

Anastasio is a multi-process visual artist, an award-winning writer and currently a painter, poet, photographer, and illustrator. They create bright and fluorescent two-dimensional works with varying line widths and small marks. Anastasio is also the creator of "The Non-Binary Coloring Book."

Katlego is a multidisciplinary visual artist who creates comfort art that communicates or evokes a response. He explores form, layers, medium, texture and subject matter that resonates with him and the audience. Katlego's skillset includes drawing, painting, photography, digital media, sculpting, printmaking and video.

Nicole, who has been drawing since she was 8, is a local artist known as being a painter at live events, even weddings! She illustrated the children's book “Where is My Voice?” When she isn't painting, she is listening to podcasts and travelling.

Chelsey Petersen, Artist commonly known as 2neuro started out with Crayola crayons and coloring books. After a career in the field following college, she decided to focus on her art. Many said she was crazy, and she was. Also, supported and successful. In the past decade her art forms and styles are constantly learning and evolving. Some of her favorites include body painting, murals, mixed media canvas work, acrylics, and photography.

Mars, a black and queer artist, does mostly digital drawing. To be able to participate in Art Battle, he is teaching himself traditional painting.

John has been studying the art of a perfect stroke since he was a teenager. His goal is to create meaningful art as fast as possible. During the day, John is a physicist who studies how light interacts with objects, people and cells.

Emma focuses on processing their inner turmoil by using their hands and "feeling out" an art piece. The artist finds a way to encapsulate the feelings that would otherwise bubble over, or not be brought to such colored lights.

Émi loves life to be filled with beauties and realizes that sometimes you have to create the beauty. In addition to painting, Émilie also does drawing, DIY projects, photography and dance.

Michel started painting prior to the pandemic. He considers it a form of therapy. Michel believes his skills keep improving. He is an impressionistic creator with acrylic on stretched canvas.

Nova Sachs is a visual artist who makes paintings, photos, and conceptual and mixed media artworks. With a conceptual approach, he uses references and ideas that are integrated into the process of composition and making the work. Nova Sachs considers himself a visual communicator who uses painting, photography & digital media as a tool of expression.

Nkululeko is a Soweto based artist of Koi heritage. He produces contemporary pieces that transcend canvas and street art. His subject matter has a significant focus on African antiquity and lends dialogue to the historical and cultural influences of modern-day Urban Youth in a current paradigm.

Kemmy, of Grenadian decent, strives to capture every subject's beauty down to the smallest detail. He enjoys drawing and painting.

Francesca explores the natural world in a bold way, using various mediums from acrylics, oils, spray paint, found materials and mark making accentuating their form and color to catch the eye of the viewer and bait them to spend a little more time "in nature". She has a bold use of color and brush strokes and the ability to bush the boundaries of various mediums.

Peona paints realistic works with a little bit of abstract. She learned how to paint from YouTube videos and does traditional sketches and paintings. Peona is looking forward to being able to showcase her art at Art Battle.

Gillian Hebert is an experienced visual artist, graphic designer, marketing specialist and business owner with experience in the illustration industry. Gillian aims to provide high-quality illustrations to bring visions to life.

Samantha has been drawing since she could first pick up a pencil. Pen and watercolor are her preferred mediums. She tends to draw small 'slice of life' pictures of her surroundings, the things in her day-to-day life that make her smile. Samantha's art is heavily influenced by cartoon and manga stylized line work, bathed with washy, drippy ink and color.

Acer is back! Acer has been drawing as long as they can remember. They mostly do digital art but also creates with watercolor, acrylic, pencil crayons and a few other mediums!

Bonginkosi's art is an allegorical representation of humanity. He uses bright and high-contrast colors in an impressionistic manner to render the human form. For Bonginkosi, concentrating on a warm color palette to accentuate the flesh tones gives his portraits a much livelier look.

Mkhatshwa Bonginkosi Ligo is an emerging visual artist. He was introduced to art by his uncle who used to paint in his spare time. He explores the notion of rurality, such as underprivileged education, water scarcity, and load shedding through symbolism, printmaking, painting, and drawing. His work investigates the enduring spirit of village dwellers in his region.

SenzArt911 is a street artist from Soweto and his work reflects multi-cultural diversity using African masks. His work, African pop art, started as a movement called Amasweedi. He loves working alongside other artists, musicians and DJs.

Tebogo is a visionary, visual artist hailing form Johannesburg. From the inception of his journey, Tebogo exhibited an extraordinary artistic flair that would become the driving force behind his creative pursuits. Tebogo is currently exploring the concept of "Home as Self," acknowledging the intricate link between an individual's sense of self and their physical, emotional, and non-material connections to their home.

Tamina is a professional Minnesota based artist that is highly recognized for her face and body painting. Her art represents strong black women and her Native American ancestry.

A self-taught artist and self-proclaimed night owl, Yasmine's art is dark and grotesque. She tends to draw goddesses, witches and cats. She is looking forward to challenging herself at Art Battle.

Liz is primarily a digital illustrator who likes to work in a mid-century minimalist style using simple lines and bold colors. She loves to explore with new materials and genres including comics, portraiture and of course, painting.

Jess's goal in her artwork is to employ the 5 C's: combination, contrast, color, correct drawing, and composition. She believes that no medium stacks up to watercolor because of its ability to be abstract and fluid to subtly describe features and objects, or sharp and controlled to accurately render intricate details.

Maria is in love with color and nature, which she captures on her canvases from the depths of her being. She is passionate about training and sharing her knowledge with others.

Ztenzila's art can be described as urban, afro, punk, zeitgeist expression with a combination of animation, cartoons, comics, graffiti and abstract. He uses aerosol, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, fabric, graphite, ink pens, watercolors and digital software on his work.

Hannah's art these days is best described as wiggly and wild! She is an intuitive-led painter and rarely has any plans before heading into a piece. Hannah has been painting and drawing her whole life, through every up and down, the good, the bad, the strange and the ugly times! It all comes out in Hannah's work unapologetically.
