I am an artist whose work explores the intersection of mental health and visual expression. From The Studio
These 3 pictures showcase some of my more recent works. The first being a sculpture made from poured bronze, weighing 11.5lbs. The idea behind the piece is that it is anxiety with time. A melding of part of a face with pieces from a clock. The next piece is done in graphite. Just a still life drawing during my classical drawing course where we were studying and capturing the flow of fabric. The last picture shows 3 acrylic paintings done by me. I like to capture emotions in my art and usually I paint when I am going through my own mental health turbulence to help express what I am feeling in a healthy coping manner. The more abstract piece you see in the picture was created by using a tool I made (a mask) out of wood and braided macramé string and which was then tied to me and throwing my whole body into making the art itself.
