For me, art is a way of slowing down and paying attention. It’s easy to let time pass without really noticing it, so creating has become my way of staying present amid the stress of school and work. I’m especially drawn to combining realistic subjects with imaginative elements, allowing a piece to begin in reality and gradually become something more dreamlike.
