Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

John has been studying the art of a perfect stroke since he was a teenager. His goal is to create meaningful art as fast as possible. During the day, John is a physicist who studies how light interacts with objects, people and cells.

Mars, a black and queer artist, does mostly digital drawing. To be able to participate in Art Battle, he is teaching himself traditional painting.

Krystlesaurus

Krystlesaurus is a visual artist from Portland, Oregon. She primarily creates with acrylic, watercolor and mixed medias, but is also studying oil painting. Her works tend to reflect her love of Halloween and all things creepy, although she also creates beautiful abstract works in acrylic.
Krystlesaurus is excited to be coming back to Art Battle ! This is her second one, expect something new!
Stefania Salles Bruins
Stefania, born in Brazil, is a representational artist, currently focused on figurative oil paintings. She started painting in 2019 and found that she increasingly needed to paint. Before embracing herself as an artist, she practiced law for over a decade.
I just moved here from NYC and am very excited to be live painting together with other artists in Portland!

Anastasio is a multi-process visual artist, an award-winning writer and currently a painter, poet, photographer, and illustrator. They create bright and fluorescent two-dimensional works with varying line widths and small marks. Anastasio is also the creator of "The Non-Binary Coloring Book."

PincheMeL
PincheMeL paints a mix of abstract and realism with a lot of colors. He enjoys drawing faces because he likes portraying emotion and evoking responses and thoughts from the viewer. PincheMeL and his family are all artists and are all self-taught. He also directly connects music to his art.
My goal is to present to you a piece that will encourage dialogue , make you wonder , and question reality. Another objective is to leave an impression for years to come.

Roger is inspired by the Pacific Northwest but not just nature. Modern buildings play a huge part in the landscape. Nature and manmade structures have had to learn to play together in the landscape and this is shown in his art which is done digitally, by painting and drawing.

Fia's art is an attempt at visualizing their perspective and processing their experiences with an emphasis on anatomy, flowing shapes, and nature settings. Fia has worked with mixed mediums throughout their life starting with sketching and traditional painting but growing into digital, sculptural, and fiber arts. Sketching remains their favorite media though.
The art I create is my way of reflecting on life through my perspective it is subject to interpretation and I’m very open to feedback, it’s incredibly exciting finding a space dedicated to sharing art

Nate is a visionary artist who does optical illusion experimentation. He started painting in June of 2022 and specializes in surreal, cartoon and visionary art. This is Nate's third Art Battle.
This will be my 3rd time competing in art battle. The first 2 times I shared some optical illusion concepts.
I'm excited to show what I have been up to in my studio. It's going to be fun to experiment with a totally improvised style.
I have finished 1 piece since I started painting 2 years ago, have finished 2 in art battle competition; and have as many as 20 works in progress that I'm set on finishing soon.
