Montina says it's a wrestling with repressed emotions which she harnesses and imprints onto the canvas. This comes out as expressive, figurative work that is formed by irrational colors of flesh and distorted gestures. Montina takes psychological schools of thoughts and topics that are not found in small talk, and in numerous aggressive mark making, transports them into physical form.
