In his work, he explores Caribeaness, drawing from his memories and experiences in the two islands, often through the genre of anime and manga. After moving to Amsterdam, he was drawn to fashion as a potential medium toward sustainability, and since his fashion school days he has sought to repurpose and give new life to textiles and garments—tools of artistic expression for him. Kimmi

Kimmi

Kimmi has been creative from a young age, with drawing a daily part of her life for as long as she can remember. In 2018, she began drawing eyes, inspired by Hans Ruigrok of Jazz Café ’t Geveltje, where she often sketched on beer coasters. After his encouragement, she taught herself through YouTube videos and hours of practice, including time drawing at Antiek Tattoo. Over time, she developed her own style, creating realistic eyes that feel true to her. She has also supported the creative community as a stage and artists manager for Art Battle Amsterdam. As a painter, she works more abstractly—playful, colorful, and full of bold strokes in purple, turquoise, and pink. For Kimmi, art is feeling, freedom, and expression.

Rae Galloway

Rae is a self‑taught artist who turned to art after leaving a healthcare path where she trained to be a physician. She began with watercolor in July 2022 and soon expanded into acrylics, soft pastels, oils, and encaustic. She loves bold color, moving between expressive abstraction and realism, shaped by her synesthesia, which lets her taste colors. Recently relocated from Oregon to the Netherlands, she has competed in ArtBattle events in Portland and Tacoma. Rae teaches watercolor and color theory, shares paint samples by syringe—earning the nickname Watercolor Drug Lord—and favors watercolor and encaustic: Fire and Ice.

Sofia Shilova

Sofia Shilova

She has been involved in art since childhood, studying graphic design and fine arts, but her artistic identity was shaped most by her move to the Netherlands during the war. Working in an expressionist style, she explores emotions—tension, fear, strength, and vulnerability—and draws inspiration from people and life’s contrasts. Recently, she has also begun combining painting with movement and sound in performance work. For Sofia, art is a way to process reality and share it with others.
