Confirmed Competitors

Faye

Instagram: faye.tattoos

Faye, a tattoo artist, has been drawing since childhood, inspired by a deep yearning for the places she’s experienced—both real and imagined. Her artwork evokes visions of a long-lost paradise, blending technical precision with vivid imagination. From lifelike portraits to surreal, psychedelic landscapes, her pieces are distinguished by bold colors, rich depth, and her signature use of flowing curls and fern-like motifs.

From the artist:

I’m a tattoo artist based in Montreal, but Ottawa has a special place in my heart — I used to live here and studied at the University of Ottawa. I’ve competed in Art Battles in Montreal, Toronto, and Texas, and I’m thrilled to be painting here in Ottawa for the first time. I love exploring creativity through painting, and I’m excited to show you what I can do!

JENNIFER FORD

Instagram: jfordfineart

Jennifer is a Post-Impressionist–Abstract artist known for her work as a painter, muralist, and theatre art director and set designer. With a creative career that bridges both traditional and digital mediums, she has also designed websites and contributed to software development for Adobe. Jennifer holds a BFA and has pursued extensive studies in both painting and web design. She teaches art and remains deeply engaged in theatre design.

From the artist:

After a long absence, where she really missed all the gang, and missed the big charge you get from participating in Art Battle, Jennifer is ready to compete, once more.
After a recent slamdunk win in another 20 minute throwdown, Jennifer is feeling cocky as hell and chock full of steely determination.
To add to the already mountainous challenge of competing in the king of them all, "Art Battle", Jennifer will be painting abstracts.
Which, if done well, can be far more daunting to paint than any attempt at realism.
Faugh a Ballagh!!!!
Which is a Celtic battle cry meaning "Clear The Way"!!!
I AM cocky aren't I?
On a more serious note.
The example of my recent work that I have chosen, is titled " Burn Them Out" and represents the horrors visited on the Palestinian olive groves, and the families that have owned these lands for generations, by ilegal Israeli settlers.

Largely self-taught, she creates expressive, slightly abstract landscapes and nature-inspired works that reflect her own interpretations of the world around her. While she primarily works with acrylics, she enjoys adding texture and experimenting with unconventional tools—like bubble wrap or wine corks—to create unique patterns.

From the artist:

I’m so excited that I’ve been invited to compete in Art Battle! 🎨🔥

I’ve been a huge fan of these events for years—cheering from the crowd, soaking in the energy, and dreaming of the day I’d step up to the easel myself. That day is finally here, and I couldn’t be more thrilled (and a little nervous in the best way)!

I paint by instinct and emotion—letting the brush follow feeling more than form—and I can’t wait to bring that energy live to the canvas.

Hope to see you there, cheering loud! Let’s make some art magic happen. 💥
— Laura (Inspired by Life Art Studio)
