I was inspired when I watched my friends compete in art battle Seattle / Philadelphia/ Wilmington! I had so much fun they all encouraged me to compete.

Helen Ounjian is a 2D artist based in Newark, predominantly working with acrylics, ink, pencil, and digital formats. Her artistic journey is influenced by a variety of sources, including the works of unconventional creatives, compelling narratives, music, and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit.
Much of Helen's live art is created during church services, where she actively engages in a spiritual dialogue through her painting. She often begins with the prayer, “Lord, what should I paint?” The answers she perceives—though this may seem abstract—often come as a sense of colors and forms, or dreams and visions that guide her strokes.
Drawing upon her conviction that the Creator of the universe is intimately connected to each of us, Helen believes that art can be God-breathed. Her works, therefore, are not only a reflection of her personal expression but also an experience that invites viewers to explore the intersection of faith, truth, and the simplistic beauty found in everyday life.

What inspires me to paint with Art Battle is the energy and spontaneity of creating in the moment—it pushes me out of my comfort zone in the best way. As someone deeply inspired by Greek mythology, witchcraft, and the emotional storytelling found in Pre-Raphaelite and Italian Renaissance art, I love the challenge of channeling those influences into something immediate and raw. It’s also an incredible opportunity to connect with other artists and share my creativity with a live audience who gets to experience the magic unfold in real time.

I’ve always been inspired by Greek mythology and witchcraft—the stories, symbols, and sense of mystery behind them really spark my imagination. I’m also drawn to the beauty and emotion in the Pre-Raphaelite movement, and I love the timeless detail and craftsmanship of Italian Renaissance art. All of these influences help shape how I see the world and come through in the way I approach my creative work.

Jo creates bright, powerful paintings inspired by nature, travel, and motherhood. She enjoys working on large canvases and painting live to music. Beginning with Audubon-style birds alongside her grandmother at age seven, Jo was part of the first class at Delaware College of Art & Design. Primarily an acrylic painter, she also loves watercolor—the medium she turns to when she wants a cleaner approach—and often incorporates her art into her everyday life.

Milton combines spontaneous creativity with mechanical precision to create bold, colorful artworks that blend reality with abstraction and surrealism. Known for quickly rendering detailed images, he incorporates fabric and 3D materials to bring his pieces to life. A seven-time Teacher of the Year and two-time state award winner, Milton’s work challenges viewers with thought-provoking truths while remaining connected to human consciousness.

Worldsgraytest is a contemporary abstract artist who specializes in creating strange and exaggerated characters. His art, known as Worldsgraytest Art, is currently accepting commissions for fans of unique and unusual works. He is also seeking opportunities to paint murals throughout the city. He describes his art as eccentric and unorthodox, setting it apart from the norm. Having always had a natural talent for drawing, he began incorporating painting into his practice in 2020, making it a distinct part of his artistic journey.
