Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

Deborah J Janelle
Deborah’s been making art and painting since she was 9 and will paint on just about anything—guitars, vans, walls… you get the idea. She’s never been in a competition before, but this felt like it could be a blast. Her friends suggested she go for it, and they’ll be there at the battle cheering her on the whole way.
Desi Steele
Desi is a local artist from Dover, Delaware, who studied at Delaware State University and recently returned to art after a 10-year break. She works with water-based oil paints and is exploring oil pastels as part of her creative journey. Grateful to be back in the art world, Desi finds joy and purpose in creating again, giving thanks to God for the renewed inspiration.
Eric Mercado
Eric is a self-taught acrylic artist who’s been painting for about six years. Back in 2020, when the world shut down during COVID, he got tired of the endless doom scrolling and decided to pick up a paintbrush and explore his artistic side—and he hasn’t been able to put it down since. He loves expressing himself through his work and bringing joy to others through art. He doesn’t stick to one specific style—he just loves to create.
Jordan Alyse
Jordan has been making art her whole life, starting with sketching and later teaching painting classes. She found her true spark in the metaphysical world, blending her art with intuitive card readings to create her own healing tools and decks. She’s designed multiple decks so far and has plenty more in mind, believing art can reach people in ways words can’t.
Kat Corvidae
Kat is a mixed-media and multimedia artist, performer, and poet. She participated in Art Battle Wilmington in 2025 and was also the spotlight poet at another Art Battle. She’s also taken part in Poetry Battle DE/PA. Her work blends visual art, performance, and poetry.
Laura Snipe
Laura grew up in Erie, PA, and started painting at a young age, often using her mom’s paper plates before getting a sketchpad. A former Air Force member and Deputy Sheriff, she returned to art as a bright, colorful, and whimsical outlet that helps her cope with severe depression. Using acrylic paints and markers, Laura creates joyful paintings designed to make people smile, while also crafting Halloween costumes from various materials.
Marie Gatling
Marie is an acrylic painter who works on canvas, blending abstract elements with realism. She’s been painting seriously since her teenage years, though her love for art goes back to childhood. Inspired by her experiences with anxiety and depression, she uses painting as a form of release. Each piece is both personal and an open invitation for others to connect with the emotion behind it.
Skylynn Rivera
Sky is a lover and creator of the arts who’s always making something—painting, doodling, sticker collages, kandi, sewing, and customizing clothes. Art has always been a passion, even if it’s been pushed to the side at times. She’s been attending Art Battle Wilmington since the beginning and is thrilled to finally compete alongside her dad.
Taniel Harvey
Taniel is an experienced designer, illustrator, marketing artist, painter, and now author! She creates assets, visual collateral, and packaging that help bring digital and physical content to life. She’s passionate about using digital illustration to help people grow and learn.
vincent rivera
Vinnie is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans pop art, abstract design, digital media, and fashion. Drawing inspiration from nature, music, and film, he experiments with bold colors, unexpected patterns, and wearable art—from custom sneakers to expressive canvases. An Art Battle alum and champion, Vinnie captures motion, emotion, and imagination in every piece. Since his last Art Battle, he’s had his first solo show and collaborated on a mural with Manny (Ramos Art) at Uncle John’s BBQ.
