Angela Agaian
Angela is an Armenian‑born artist who’s been drawing since she was 15. She works in both fine art and tattooing and has shown her work in nine exhibitions across Italy, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, and now Sydney, where she’s based. Her practice centers on expressive drawing and emotional storytelling, exploring identity, memory, and the body.
Italian artist based in Sydney, I specialize in creating bold oil portraits that reveal our raw, unfiltered selves.
My work is an invitation to both the viewer and ourselves to shed the masks we wear for the world, embracing our emotions and pursuing our deepest passions without societal constraints.
Working spontaneously, I manipulate colors directly on canvas using silicone spatulas, capturing the marks and emotions that define each painting. Through my art, I aim to remind us that emotions should be expressed, not suppressed, encouraging authenticity and self-discovery.
Hi, my name’s Ivy and I’m a Wollongong based artist who originally grew up in Bathurst. I have only recently gotten into painting but I am loving it. My art style is very bright and colourful often incorporating text and intricate patterns. I occasionally paint on tote bags as well!
Juanita Rudman is a Sydney-based artist known for her vibrant, bold semi-abstract paintings that radiate joy and positivity. Returning to painting during a deeply personal time, she found inspiration in her father’s incredible garden, a sanctuary during his chemo treatments and a powerful source of creative energy.
Juanita’s work explores the beauty of nature, with recurring themes of rainbows and flowers bursting with colour and life. She views rainbows as symbols of hope and happiness, inspiring her to use all the colours on the palette. Her layered and intuitive process combines acrylic paint, ink, oil sticks, pastels, and Posca pens to create dynamic, textured works filled with movement and energy.
Her ultimate goal is to bring joy, brightness, and positivity to viewers, leaving them with a smile.
Juanita has exhibited her work at various Sydney shows and is a Committee Member and social media co-manager for the Drummoyne Art Society.
Laura Reis, 25, has been painting at Art Battle since she was 17. Her work focuses on black-and-white figurative urban portraits, especially of women, capturing strength, emotion, and personal expression. Exploring multiple surfaces — from paper to murals, Laura channels her passion for art into every piece, celebrating the raw power and experience it brings.
I have drawn since i can remember. I painted later as an adult, with a more conscious desire to create art... but drawing has been always just something i do; like breathing, like walking... If there's pen and paper, I'll be doodling. Drawing is how i best communicate with my 3-year-old son, I'd flirt with girls or woo them capturing their beauty on paper. Drawing is how i best express opinion, emotion, humour, desire and ideas. Everything inspires me because everything is worthy of being drawn. This is also why i have so much unfinished work; i always want to start new projects, new portraits, new caricatures. I love a deadline, a request, a present, as they force me to finish and complete. My journey is that of someone who explores and enjoys different vehicles for a very natural need to portray, copy, admire, critisise, mock, exaggerate, love.
I am an artist originally from Southern California. I love working in many mediums such as oil paint, oil pastel, acrylic, colored pencil, and more. I love vivid, vibrant colors. I enjoy painting floral, portraits, landscapes, and abstracts that lend themselves to nature. I attended the University of Florida and have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. I have participated in group art shows and have also exhibited solo.
I’m a 21 yr old multi-media artist based in Sydney, Australia. I’ve complete a diploma in ceramics and Cert III in design fundamentals. My works have been featured across 3 different exhibitions, ranging from realistic figurative sculptures, abstract paintings, and functional ceramic ware.
I am a Sydney based artist and have been creating for around 4 years now.
My practice explores the fluid, shifting terrain of identity, shaped by my experience as a queer, mixed-race artist.
My work is defined by bold colour, swirling and an expressive energy that reflects the complexity of the self: layered, ever-changing, sometimes chaotic other times simple and pure. I approach each piece in the moment, letting colour, texture, and movement emerge organically. This spontaneity allows me to capture the tension and joy found in navigating one’s inner world.
