Darcey Gwynn-Jones
Darcey loves to paint and is all about art—her passion drives everything she creates! She’s exhibited locally twice, curated once, and is set for an artist residency in France in May 2026.
Eleanora is an Italian artist based in Sydney making bold, expressive oil portraits that get straight to the raw stuff. She’s all about ditching the masks and feeling things fully. Working spontaneously with silicone spatulas, she pushes paint around the canvas to capture real emotion and energy. Her work’s basically a reminder to stop suppressing, start expressing, and lean into who you actually are.
Harley’s a Northern Beaches–based artist who started out in street and graffiti, and evolved into murals, illustration, and commission work. From massive spray-painted walls to smaller oil paintings on canvas, he’s all about versatility. He loves street art and portraiture—whether it’s bold, punchy color or detailed skin tones. Always learning, always experimenting, always pushing his art further.
Ivy is a Wollongong-based artist who grew up in Bathurst and has recently stepped into the world of painting—absolutely loving it so far. Her style is bright, colorful, and full of personality, often featuring text and intricate patterns. She also paints on tote bags from time to time. This will be her very first Art Battle competition, and she’s excited to jump in and share her work.
Juanita Rudman is a Sydney-based artist known for her vibrant, bold semi-abstract paintings that radiate joy and positivity. Returning to painting during a deeply personal time, she found inspiration in her father’s incredible garden, a sanctuary during his chemo treatments and a powerful source of creative energy. Juanita’s work explores the beauty of nature, with recurring themes of rainbows and flowers bursting with color and life. She views rainbows as symbols of hope and happiness, inspiring her to use all the colors on the palette.
Lana is an emerging artist and illustrator based in Darlinghurst, building and figuring out her creative groove as she goes. She makes abstract monsters straight from her head—imaginative, a little chaotic, and full of personality. She jumped into Art Battle just to see if she likes it (and maybe compete again down the track). She’s also gearing up for her first Sydney solo show at Halls Lane in Woollahra/Paddington, which is a pretty exciting next step.
Laura Reis, 25, has been painting at Art Battle since she was 17. Her work focuses on black-and-white figurative urban portraits, especially of women, capturing strength, emotion, and personal expression. Exploring multiple surfaces — from paper to murals, Laura channels her passion for art into every piece, celebrating the raw power and experience it brings.
Lucas is a self-taught artist from Sydney, born and raised. His work jumps across themes—from cute and fluffy to morbid and goofy—because he likes keeping things interesting. He paints mainly with acrylics these days, but drawing was his first love and still shapes how he creates. For now, though, he’s all in on painting and seeing where it takes him.
Mauricio’s been drawing for as long as he can remember—it’s basically second nature. Painting came later, but doodling? That’s just who he is. Give him a pen and he’s off. Drawing’s how he connects with his three-year-old son, flirts, jokes, shares opinions, and makes sense of the world. He’s always starting new portraits and caricatures (hence the unfinished pile) but give him a deadline and he’ll bring it home. For him, art’s just a natural way to admire, exaggerate, question, and love everything around him.
Michelle is originally from Southern California and now calls Sydney home. She mainly works in oil paint, but also loves experimenting with oil pastel, acrylic, colored pencil and more. Her subjects range from still life and portraits to landscapes, florals and nature-inspired abstracts. Inspired by both nature and people, she’s focused on developing her artistic voice and exploring new ways to paint. She’s excited to connect with the Sydney art community through Art Battle and paint alongside other artists.
Sage is a 21-year-old multi-media artist based in Sydney. She’s on a mission to make art that connects viewers with their inner worlds. With a diploma in ceramics and a Cert III in design fundamentals, her work spans realistic figurative sculptures, abstract paintings, and functional ceramic pieces. She’s been featured in three exhibitions, showing off a range of styles and mediums that mix creativity with purpose.
Samson is a Sydney-based artist who’s been creating for about four years. His work explores identity through the lens of being queer and mixed-race, using bold colors, swirling forms, and expressive energy to reflect the complexity of the self—layered, ever-changing, sometimes chaotic, sometimes pure. He works spontaneously, letting color, texture, and movement emerge naturally, capturing both the tension and joy of navigating one’s inner world.
