Art Battle Fredericton: FROSTival!
11 confirmed artists
Andrea Cole
Andrea’s been a self‑taught painter for nearly 20 years, working in both realism and pop art. Her subjects usually come from whatever idea amused her in the moment. She jumped into Art Battle as a last‑minute participant back in 2023 and has been itching to do another ever since.
Aneas MacInnis
Aneas creates landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits. She began with pencil and charcoal portraits as a child and later studied fine art under Jennifer Pazienza, developing a passion for oil painting. Inspired by a solo trip across Europe, she focused on landscapes but spent years away from painting. In the past year and a half, Aneas has pursued art more seriously, primarily using oil paints, though she also works with acrylics when time is limited.
Bartly Ferguson
Bartly is a self‑taught oil landscape artist specializing in the wet‑on‑wet technique for the past four years. Based in Fredericton, NB, he has shown work at Capital Art Sale events, Isaac’s Way, and the annual STARS fundraiser, and has taught at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. This marks his fourth Art Battle appearance.
Courtney Lorraine
Courtney’s a primarily watercolor artist, full‑time tattooer, acrylic lover, and lifelong crafter. This is her second shot at Art Battle, and she’s ready to dive back in.
Evan
📍 Fredricton, NS, CA
Evan is a mixed media artist with a preference to the mediums of oil paint and spray paint, when not drawing or working on his latest oil painting he is working on large scale murals using spray paint. Evan’s artistic subject matter varies, but lately consists of portraits, animals, skulls and lettering.
James Dickson
James is a Fredericton‑based artist who loves working across sketch cards, comic art, and portraiture. His pieces are full of movement and personality, with characters that feel lively and expressive. He enjoys experimenting with different mediums and creating comic‑style work with as little reference as possible.
Janelle LeBlanc
Janelle LeBlanc is a 24‑year‑old tattoo artist at Cult in Fredericton. She studied visual arts at UdeM in Moncton, earned her graphic design degree, and jumped into tattooing soon after. These days she focuses on lino carving and tattooing, though painting was her first love. She’s shown work in group exhibitions at la Société Culturelle Kent‑Sud since she was 14, at UdeM, and is currently preparing a new show for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. She’s wanted to join Art Battle for years and is excited for the chance.
Jesse Catibog
Jesse’s been drawing his whole life and is now branching into new paths of art to create work that hits with real emotion. He’s from Toronto, and his style pulls from urban city living, hip hop culture, graffiti, and fashion.
Joel Strauss
Joel Strauss is a watercolor painter based in Fredericton, NB, recognized for his atmospheric, impressionistic style. Influenced by his studies with master artist Joseph Zbukvic, he explores mood through loose brushwork, subtle realism, and a distinctive balance of warm and cool tones. A longtime musician, Joel began painting in 2020, discovering a creative passion that now drives his continually evolving body of work.
kaity craig
Kaity is a graduate of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, as well as the New Brunswick community college, where she has completed both the Foundation Visual Arts program, a diploma in Digital Media and graphic design. She currently works as a professional graphic designer, but acrylic painting gives her the freedom to be more playful, intuitive, and imaginative in her creativity.
parker chiquita
Parker’s a second‑year Human Rights and Sociology student with a big love for making art. She’s been painting since 2020 and has jumped into exhibitions, festivals, and a few Art Battles along the way. She works mainly in oil and mixed‑media drawing, always exploring and creating on the side.
