Amanda Cheung

Amanda Cheung

I'm an artist and biomedical engineer. I combine my artistic eye in my engineering practice, and engineering serves as a tool to expand my art.

My work is whimsical, exploratory, and at times, very stupid. My illustration style ranges from bold brushstrokes in acrylic, to hyperrealistic details in coloured pencil, and a mix of both in oil paint and digital. On top of my engineering and artistic practices, I teach adults how to paint through fun, interactive classes. Outside of illustration, I combine my love for engineering and art, using digital fabrication (3D modeling, 3D printing, laser cutting) and (sometimes) basic electronics knowledge to create biomedical sculptures and home decor that looks like pastries (like croissant lamps).

I've never heard of such an event and it's an awesome fun opportunity!

My art utilizes traditional techniques/training in a unique stylized way. Quality line work and a wide range of beautiful color make my work pop and draws the viewer in. Modern day psychedelia, abstract art, visionary art and contemporary art all play an important roll in my creations.
