Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

Kathy's art is considered primitive expressionism with a sense of humor. She is spontaneous and resourceful when it comes to materials. She is very intuitive when she works, a very visceral interpretation of a subject or image where shapes and textures are an important aesthetic./sf

Sam is a student studying visual arts. They have 3 pet rats named Marshmallow, Houdini, and Popcorn. Their friends say they always have strange facts at the ready!

Marc Sharelove

Marc considers his art abstract,, abrasive and colorful. The creative process allows him to escape the challenges he faces living with mental health illnesses and identity ambiguity. He creates through painting, drawing, guitar, drumming and poetry./sf

Roanne celebrates the beauty in everything using delicate paint or ink mediums. She likes combining multiple mediums in one artwork as well. Roanne loves to be whimsical when creating a piece.

Trained in Walla Walla, Washington and Lacoste, France, Susan is a painter, photographer and cartoonist. She enjoys playing with color and form and has an active expressive and spontaneous painting style.

I love painting live because the energy of the viewers helps to shape my images and colours. Often I have not planned my Art Battle paintings in advance, so they really are an artifact of our time together!
