Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

Sarah is a self-taught artist whose work is deeply inspired by the world—its nature, its people, and its intricate complexities. She boldly explores subjects that are often left unspoken, with a particular focus on mental health and feminist issues. Her pieces resonate on multiple levels, sparking conversations and inviting viewers to confront areas of controversy and societal norms. Sarah primarily works with acrylics but often incorporates mixed media to bring her visions to life.
I went (to Bristol Art Battle), I saw loads but I didn’t conquer. I hope with everything I learnt from my first ever battle to bust out some much better moves and if you’re lucky, some art!!
Adam Jeffries

Adam is a Scottish illustrator with a vibrant, campy style, often focusing on drag queens, femininity, and fashion. He’s been invited to the Edinburgh Fringe twice for live spray art and has designed banners for pride events. Adam once created a dress from bin bags for a drag awards event. A jack of all trades, he loves working with pencils, paint, clay, lino, digital art, and, of course, bin bags.

Mark is a Dorset-based artist with a very eclectic range of styles across all mediums. Quirky hares are one of his main themes, alongside local Dorset landscapes in ink, acrylic, oil, and mixed media. He is also a speed artist, known for creating 15-minute pet sketches. Previously, Mark worked as a pencil portrait artist for Harrods and enjoys taking art retreats in France, Spain, and Morocco to expand his skills.

Libby is a freelance chalkboard, window, and mural artist, also developing her practice as a figurative painter. After studying Illustration & Animation, she put her artistic dreams on hold for 12 years while working in marketing. In her 30s, she decided to pursue her passion, believing in herself and starting to paint professionally.

Lily Romano
Lily’s art is her passion, and she pours her heart into it. Her style is a blend of figurative expressionism with realistic elements. A natural talent, she began painting at the age of 12, learning classic oil painting techniques on her own without formal art education. Lily creates realistic portraits, abstract, figurative, and impressionist paintings, and she is also a skilled sculptor. Her art reflects her emotional state, merging realistic and figurative styles to convey her personal expression.

Cassidy

Cassidy's art is just a small part of their many hobbies, interests, and fixations. They find inspiration wherever they go, often without thinking, and take pride in their ability to use colors harmoniously. Primarily focused on digital art and animation, Cassidy also enjoys painting with gouache and exploring anatomy studies, still lifes, moths, and constellations. Their mediums include gouache, watercolor, acrylics, oil pastels, and they also practice astral photography.

After struggling with ADHD and burnout, Nyamedor took a break but has gradually regained her creative motivation, finding inspiration in the supportive art community.

Sophie creates vibrant abstract and surreal artwork that embodies playfulness, power, and freedom. Inspired by René Magritte, she began with whimsical illustrations of fish with legs and has since evolved to incorporate organic elements, such as fish emerging from bananas or mushrooms with eyes. Sophie enjoys working with acrylic paint pouring, fine liners, pastel pencils, and photography.
I’m excited to compete once again in the Bournemouth Art Battle. It should be a great afternoon/evening of getting creative, meeting other artists and supporting such an important cause. I’m looking forward to coming up with a new subject to paint!

Luke Nigel Trimmings
Luke is a black and white line artist who occasionally incorporates color to add texture and depth. His work often blends mechanical and natural elements, as seen in his imaginative bird-airplane series. Using primarily paint pens and fine liners, Luke crafts highly detailed illustrations. He enjoys the competitive energy of drawing contests and recently took part in the CANVAS event in Bournemouth.
