Art Battle Halifax is back for a Friday night full of live art!
Watch as they bring their creativity to life, transforming blank canvases into stunning works of art in three intense rounds of just 20 minutes each.
Your vote will help decide who claims the title and be the Champion of the night!
All artwork will also be available for silent auction.

Artists can apply to compete. Also, most events have a ‘Wildcard’ easel, where artists leave their names at the door and we draw at random to pick the Wildcard Artist. To be a potential wildcard artist, just buy a ticket and show up!

Ashley Featherling
Ashley is a Halifax-based self-taught artist who explores consciousness through surreal landscapes and imagery. They experiment with techniques and styles to evolve with each piece, bringing depth and imagination to their creative journey.
Jade Douglas
Jade is a fourth-year fine arts student at NSCAD University, specializing in drawing and painting. Her work draws inspiration from growing up between the Caribbean and Canada, using bold colors and whimsical motifs to depict vibrant landscapes and cultural scenes.
Kirstie Horwath Power
Kirstie is a Cape Breton–based artist, a second-year carpentry student, and a proud mom of three. Since joining Art Battle in 2023, she’s embraced the thrill of live painting. Her creative range includes chalkboard art, portraits, and community paint events. Known for her bold use of color, tone, and contrast, Kirstie’s work captures the spirit and emotion of her subjects with clarity and heart.
Matt Marquette
Matt is a self-taught oil painter based in Halifax. His impressionistic works capture quiet moments with expressive brushwork and rich color. Originally from Brampton, he paints daily, hosts community paint nights, and works at the Halifax Public Library. His art has been exhibited locally and featured by Visual Arts Nova Scotia.
Morgan Currie
Morgan is a mixed media artist based in Halifax. She is self-taught and works with painting, sketching, and line art. Her art often features dark themes and surreal style.
Prince
Prince blends the precision of a designer with the soul of an artist. His work is both personal and public using color, collage, and storytelling to turn survival into art and emotion into movement. He works from local murals to global collaborations.
Starla
Starla is a fine arts and film student at NSCAD University, class of ’28. She enjoys pushing her creative boundaries and testing her artistic skills in competitive environments.
Sushmita Roy
Roy is a queer, non-binary tattoo artist and multidisciplinary creator based in Halifax. With over 15 years of experience, their work blends realism, symbolism, and emotional storytelling. A featured artist at ME–WE in New Delhi, Roy’s practice spans painting, sculpture, design, and large-scale tattooing, always honoring cultural context and welcoming clients of all identities.
Teanna Maia
Teanna is a self-taught mixed media artist from Canada. Her work emphasizes watercolor and acrylic painting, blending techniques to create expressive and personal pieces.
Tetiana Bohdanova
Tetiana Bohdanova is a Ukrainian-born artist based in Nova Scotia, Canada. Her art blends modern expressionism, symbolism, and intuitive painting, focusing on the balance between light and darkness, movement and stillness, strength and femininity. Through fluid brushstrokes and glowing colors, Tetiana seeks to capture the invisible energy that connects emotions, nature, and human spirit.
