Amy is the winner of Art Battle Philly and an artist based in Wilmington, DE. Her work focuses on the beauty and calm of the natural world. She paints with her fingers, palette knives, and sometimes brushes, creating acrylic pieces that feel open and inviting. She’s drawn to form and depth, and her paintings often build into textured layers of light and color.
My name is Blake Showers. I am a illustrator, creative director, and art educator from Birmingham,Al. My influences in art are graffiti, cartoons, anime, the Black Experience, and Hip Hop/Rap. In my work I focus on character design and world building. I like using bold lines and vibrant colors. I like to use a cartoony style in my work to draw viewers in with a familiar art form and use that to talk about complex issues and ideas.
I am a fine artist based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with a lifelong dedication to painting that began at age four. I trained under Elvia Hurst from ages five to sixteen—renowned for her legendary chalk talks—and attended Interlochen Arts Camp twice during my formative years.
After graduating from the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCAD) in 2025, I joined The Lancaster Art Vault, where I work not only as a team member but as a resident artist.
Art is not just my career—it is essential to my existence. For over 24 years, it has shaped how I see, feel, and move through the world. My work centers on painting people, pets, and horses, deeply informed by classical art history and contemporary expression.
I am especially drawn to the performative side of artmaking. The energy of creating quickly, live, and in real time excites me—the act of painting becomes a form of performance itself. I’ve done live wedding paintings in the past and, at Interlochen, we regularly painted dancers on tight timeframes, working against the clock in high-energy environments. Coming from a deeply theatrical family, this is my way of stepping into performance through art. Being able to do this within a space like West Art feels rare, meaningful, and incredibly special—proof that Lancaster is fostering something truly unique.
Everything around me no matter how big or small inspires me to make art. I would be nothing without my art, it’s there in my darkest days and my brightest. The ocean and making it even stranger is one of my favorite things to create. I am a lover of experimentation and multiple mediums.
My greatest joy in life is my passion to create. I've been creating art since I picked up a pencil, and 23 years later the passion for art hasn't faded. I love color and igniting emotion, nostalgia, and joy through painting. I attended Pennsylvania College of Art and Design for Illustration 2020-2023 and continue to pursue art any moment I can.
Josiane Roy-Boisvert
Josiane discovered her artistic talent a few years ago and has loved creating ever since. She’s excited to share her work and participate in the contest, looking forward to the experience and connecting with fellow artists.
I’m an artist from York Pennsylvania. I like to create realistic portraits in various mediums, mainly charcoal or acrylic. People and pets are my favorite, though I also create landscapes. I used to co-own a studio called OMG Studios in downtown York where I worked and taught. These days you can catch me raising my two kids, but I’m still an artist at heart!
