Amy Nitchman
Amy is the winner of Art Battle Philly and an artist based in Wilmington, DE. Her work focuses on the beauty and calm of the natural world. She paints with her fingers, palette knives, and sometimes brushes, creating acrylic pieces that feel open and inviting. She’s drawn to form and depth, and her paintings often build into textured layers of light and color.
Blake Showers is an illustrator, creative director, and art educator from Birmingham, Alabama. His influences include graffiti, cartoons, anime, the Black experience, and Hip Hop/Rap. His work centers on character design and world building, using bold lines and vibrant colors. He leans into a cartoony style to draw viewers in with something familiar, then uses that visual language to explore complex issues and ideas.
Ceanna is a fine artist from Lancaster, PA, who’s been painting since age four. Trained by Elvia Hurst and shaped by two summers at Interlochen, she now works and creates at The Lancaster Art Vault. She paints people, pets, and horses, blending classical influence with contemporary expression. Drawn to the energy of live, fast creation, she sees painting as both art and performance—an essential part of who she is.
DRVLE is a Lancaster, PA–based digital illustrator, photographer, and filmmaker. Specializing in monster, furry, and creature art, he often works in Procreate and occasionally paints. He also illustrates anthropomorphic characters and has professional experience as a video editor, videographer, assistant camera, director of photography, grip, and motion graphics animator.
Frances Pugh is a lifelong creator and mostly self‑taught artist who works in whatever medium takes over their mind—from crochet and block printing to painting, collaging, and hand‑poked tattooing. Inspired by the ocean, cartoons, and traditional tattooing, they love experimenting across mediums. Everything around them fuels their art, and they’re a resident artist at HiveArtspace in York, PA.
Galaxie is a painter and creator of mixed‑media handmade art pieces. The universe is their muse, and they love creating abstract, fun, space‑themed work. Galaxie is the owner of Planet Side Artworks, located in York’s Royal Square.
Hannah’s greatest joy is creating. She’s been making art since she first picked up a pencil, and 23 years later her passion hasn’t faded. She loves color and sparking emotion, nostalgia, and joy through painting. She studied Illustration at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design from 2020–2023 and pursues art every moment she can. Being around other artists and joining something like this would mean so much to her.
Jaci Rice
Jaci is a Temple-trained painter recently returned to Lancaster after years documenting the fading beauty of the Ohio River Valley. Her layered acrylic works—built on wood panels with urgent strokes and quiet reverence—preserve overlooked landscapes with emotional depth. A mother of three, Jaci draws inspiration from music, memory, and fleeting light, blending heart and history into each piece. Her journey includes residencies in Pittsburgh and West Virginia, with collectors nationwide.
Josiane discovered her artistic talent a few years ago and has loved creating ever since. She’s excited to share her work and participate in the contest, looking forward to the experience and connecting with fellow artists.
Kara is an artist from York, Pennsylvania who creates realistic portraits in charcoal, acrylic, and other mediums. She loves painting people, pets, and landscapes, and also enjoys plein air. She once co‑owned OMG Studios in downtown York, where she worked and taught. These days she’s busy raising her two kids, but she’s still an artist at heart.
Award-winning Plein air painter and portraitist, Kristin explores the nature of observation and transformation in traditional drawing and oil and watercolor painting as well as abstract explorations in healing in ink. Her Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) name is Ganä:gah:is, One Who Splashes Water, and her Native heritage informs how she views the world and tells its stories. Her work has been exhibited or lives in appreciative galleries, homes, museums and literary magazines in the US and internationally. She studied art at Connecticut College and at the Bridgeview School in NYC and is a resident artist at the Lancaster Art Vault.
Nicole is an artist, educator, and gallery curator from York, PA, working mainly in oil portraiture and linoblock printmaking. She explores nature and the human condition, drawing on our animalistic sides. She holds a B.A. in Art Education with a Special Education minor and is pursuing a master’s in Clinical Psychology. She teaches 8th grade Fine Art, leads classes across York, and is a resident curator at Creatives on King.
