I've been an artist and creative all my life, but it's only been within the last couple years that I've learned to let go and play by my own rules. I love creating expressive pieces inspired by nature, filled with emotions. I finish each of my paintings with metallic paints, adding a pop of gold or shimmer.
When not behind a canvas, I enjoy performing in various ways: music, comedy, etc. I'm in a pirate band called The Cardinal Sins (@cardinal.sins.pyrates) and pun / wordplay competition group called PUNnic Wars (@punnicwar).
Award-winning Plein air painter and portraitist, Kristin explores the nature of observation and transformation in traditional drawing and oil and watercolor painting as well as abstract explorations in healing in ink. Her Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) name is Ganä:gah:is, One Who Splashes Water, and her Native heritage informs how she views the world and tells its stories. Her work has been exhibited or lives in appreciative galleries, homes, museums and literary magazines in the US and internationally. She studied art at Connecticut College and at the Bridgeview School in NYC and is a resident artist at the Lancaster Art Vault.
Kyla is a Toronto-based, New Orleans bred full-time artist with a passion for utilizing her ADHD and Mental health to intuitively guide her paintbrush. Her process is playful, colorful, and maximalist, so every viewer will see something different, depending on their perspective. With a background in both realism and abstraction, her work embodies hyper detailed psychedelic abstractions with a cubist touch (mostly facial organs) that represent emotional states and the energy of the room.
