Tamina’s colorful and bold art reflects her time in Arizona and her multicultural heritage. She often depicts mother and child, celebrating the nurturing aspect and beauty of women, using a vibrant color palette. As an illustration artist, she works with watercolor, ink, acrylic, pastel, markers, color pencils, and graphite, occasionally adding glitter for extra flair.

Joy is an impressionistic artist and instructor at Cheers Pablo in Coon Rapids. She works with acrylics and watercolor, focusing on symbolism and life's lessons. Joy enjoys layering colors, mark-making, and experimenting with photography, paper, fabric, and sculpture. She paints quickly and embraces an adventurous, spontaneous approach.

I am an acrylic painter that enjoys painting more of an impressionistic style. It gives me the ability to show off colors in a way that you might’ve not seen it before.

Ella is a fourth-year graphic design student at UMN with a lifelong passion for painting and a love for bold, emotionally expressive art. A hands-on creative, she enjoys exploring various mediums including drawing, letterpress, animation, calligraphy, and collage. Outside of visual art, she’s also a graphic designer, musician, improviser, and Chinese linguist, and is excited to dive deeper into sculpting with clay.

I am so grateful for this opportunity and am elated to participate in art battle! I have been painting since before I can remember and am drawn to bold colors and provoking emotion with my work.

A Minnesota-born artist, Sara aims to fill the world with love and color. She has created murals in Minneapolis and LA and loves repurposing materials to transform trash into treasure. While she paints outdoors, she also enjoys working with acrylics, colored pencils, watercolors, and markers indoors. Sara seeks to raise awareness of art’s healing power, calling her colorful paintings her therapy.

Gigi is a professional artist specializing in unique 3D acrylic and mixed media paintings. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the U.S., showcasing her bold and distinctive style.

Hazel is a Landscape Architecture student whose art is inspired by texture, materiality, and the hidden patterns of the natural world. From sketching in a notebook as a child to making beaded jewelry and painting murals in high school, she’s always been drawn to creative exploration. Her work often blends collage, drawing, painting, and jewelry making to express boldness beyond what the eye can see.

I enjoy making art inspired by nature and discovery. As well as using my drawings to explore textures of my subjects.

Joy is an acrylic painter and writer with a BFA and MBA, whose bold, expressive work explores identity and emotion. Her paintings are currently on display at Urban Growler, Selfie Co, and Westside Perk in Bloomington. Joy uses vibrant color and texture to communicate her experience as an #AutisticArtist, making each piece deeply personal. In addition to painting, she ghostwrites novels, edits children’s books, and has received recognition for her short stories.

Claire is a digital and sketch artist who primarily works in Procreate and occasionally experiments with scrapbooking. While painting isn’t her favorite medium, she’s currently participating in Art Battle to challenge herself and improve her skills.

Ban is a detail-oriented artist who specializes in semi-realistic drawings and paintings of furry animals, finding therapeutic joy in capturing every strand of fur. As a mother of two, she’s mastered the ability to create high-quality, detailed work in shorter timeframes, making the most of limited moments to pursue her art.

I am excited at the challenge of an art battle and seeing what I can accomplish while racing a clock.
