Art Battle York-Lancaster
12 confirmed artists
Andrius Polonikas
Artist Andy has been creating art most of his life. He lives and creates in York, PA, though he’s originally from Lithuania. His art is always evolving, shaped by color, nature, animals, music, patterns, people, emotion, and imagination. He explores many forms, from sculpture to tattooing, and creating gives him a true feeling of freedom. Over the years, he has shown work at The Parliament and Hive Artspace, painted murals in downtown York, and co‑owned Virtue Local Art Market from 2021–2025.
Blake Showers
Blake Showers is an illustrator, creative director, and art educator from Birmingham, Alabama. His influences include graffiti, cartoons, anime, the Black experience, and Hip Hop/Rap. His work centers on character design and world building, using bold lines and vibrant colors. He leans into a cartoony style to draw viewers in with something familiar, then uses that visual language to explore complex issues and ideas.
Brett Greiman
Brett Greiman, a graduate of the York Academy of Arts, is a muralist, illustrator, graphic designer, educator, and painter. Brett taught for well over a decade at Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts as an adjunct professor of graphic design. He currently works in both conventional and digital mediums in his business “Brett Greiman Design”. Brett’s paintings can be found in both private and corporate collections including Wellspan Health and York History Center where his large triptych “Civil Rights Heroes, Barrier Breakers” has been inducted into the center’s permanent collection. Brett has also illustrated five children’s books with one of them now having worldwide sales in excess of one half million copies. Brett is a life-long resident of York County and resides with his wife Nina, in York Township where his studio is also located.
Erin Fallon
Erin is an abstract painter who loves working with mixed media, adding fabrics, paper, metal, wood, sand, glass bead—anything that sticks. A fast painter with a degree in painting, she’s stepping back into the scene and went full‑time as an artist starting May 1. Her art shifts with her mood, so no two pieces look the same. This opportunity feels like the perfect chance to break out of her shell, try something new, and experience the energy of the audience and the other artists.
Frances Pugh
Frances Pugh is a lifelong creator and mostly self‑taught artist who works in whatever medium takes over their mind—from crochet and block printing to painting, collaging, and hand‑poked tattooing. Inspired by the ocean, cartoons, and traditional tattooing, they love experimenting across mediums. Everything around them fuels their art, and they’re a resident artist at HiveArtspace in York, PA.
Galaxie Towery
Galaxie is a painter and creator of mixed‑media handmade art pieces. The universe is their muse, and they love creating abstract, fun, space‑themed work. Galaxie is the owner of Planet Side Artworks, located in York’s Royal Square.
Haley Miller
Haley draws inspiration from nature, overlooked details, animals, and meaningful places, capturing the beauty in moments and objects that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s a tomato plant beside a fence post or an old bus tucked into the Colorado mountains, the images that linger in her mind eventually find their way onto canvas or paper. Oil painting sits at the center of her practice, giving her a way to channel energy and emotion into each piece. She also loves the simplicity and tactile feel of pen and ink, still using the first pen and bottle of ink she bought more than 12 years ago. More recently, gouache has become a favorite medium for spontaneous, quick bursts of creativity.
Joanna Trainor
Joanna Trainor, who often goes by Joey, was born and raised in York County. She earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Joey is an active artist and art instructor in York County, with a deep love for York City’s businesses, people, and culture. Art is a powerful connector for her, whether she’s plein‑air painting at a local coffee shop or sharing her work with the community on First Fridays. She enjoys creating and teaching art that inspires others, inviting fun, color, nostalgia, and positive interpretation. Joey considers it an honor to help students develop creative skills—guiding them as they problem‑solve, express themselves, and explore meaningful parts of their lives through art.
katie hindes
Katie is a fearless creator who transforms anything into art, driven by a mission to make the world more beautiful and whimsical—one delightfully weird piece at a time.
Nicole Smeltzer
Nicole’s watercolor and acrylic work centers on the flora and fauna of her home garden in York, Pennsylvania. Each piece begins as a detailed drawing on paper or aquaboard, built through repeated shapes and patterns that guide the viewer’s eye across the composition. Her exploration of color mixing, form, line work, and steady brushwork becomes an exercise in mindfulness, allowing everything else to fall away as she paints. Focusing on one leaf or petal at a time gives her space to slow down, while a limited palette offers freedom to play within each small shape, trusting it will all come together in the end.
Paul Godfrey
Paul enjoys painting everyday life—people, buildings, and plants. His work has been featured at Creative York, the York Art Association, and multiple shows at The Grotto. He also completed a mural at Cherry Lane, contributing to York’s public art landscape.
Sage Welsh
Sage is an acrylic and oil pastel artist who loves realism but isn’t afraid to throw unexpected color into the world. They mostly paint landscapes, plants, and anything else rooted in nature.
