Art Battle Maritime Finals

10 confirmed artists

Abigail Beck

Abigail Beck

Abigail is a mixed-media artist, born in Saint John, New Brunswick, now expanding her craft at Mount Allison University. Her earlier pursuits, she worked collaboratively with other artists and alternatively alone, these pursuits were driven in social activism, using paint as way to confront the world head on. Lately, her work has turned inward, chasing colors of memory and the comfort that comes with nostalgia. Although her love for paint still remains apparent, she's branched out towards different mediums such as, sculpture, printmaking, and collage.
Ashley Featherling

Ashley Featherling

Ashley is a Halifax-based self-taught artist who explores consciousness through surreal landscapes and imagery. They experiment with techniques and styles to evolve with each piece, bringing depth and imagination to their creative journey.
Brianne Casey

Brianne Casey

📍 St.Catharines, ON, CA

Brianne returned to the arts after a four‑year hiatus and a cross‑country move, beyond excited to get back to the canvas. She previously participated in this event in Hamilton and is eager to try again on the East Coast. She’s now doing markets, selling artwork, and taking commissions. Her work grows from what she sees, what she feels, and her love of visual storytelling.
Courtney Lorraine

Courtney Lorraine

Courtney’s a primarily watercolor artist, full‑time tattooer, acrylic lover, and lifelong crafter. This is her second shot at Art Battle, and she’s ready to dive back in.
Janelle LeBlanc

Janelle LeBlanc

Janelle LeBlanc is a 24‑year‑old tattoo artist at Cult in Fredericton. She studied visual arts at UdeM in Moncton, earned her graphic design degree, and jumped into tattooing soon after. These days she focuses on lino carving and tattooing, though painting was her first love. She’s shown work in group exhibitions at la Société Culturelle Kent‑Sud since she was 14, at UdeM, and is currently preparing a new show for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. She’s wanted to join Art Battle for years and is excited for the chance.
Kirstie Horwath Power

Kirstie Horwath Power

Kirstie is a Cape Breton–based artist, a second-year carpentry student, and a proud mom of three. Since joining Art Battle in 2023, she’s embraced the thrill of live painting. Her creative range includes chalkboard art, portraits, and community paint events. Known for her bold use of color, tone, and contrast, Kirstie’s work captures the spirit and emotion of her subjects with clarity and heart.
Raiana Garaeva

Raiana Garaeva

Raiana participated in Art Battle for many years and was elected to paint at the Art Battle Nova Scotia Championship in 2024 and 2025. She creates nature and animal paintings and enjoys sketching. She has volunteered with Theatre Arts Guild and has over ten years of experience working in documentary and fiction film production as a logger.
Stacy Murray

Stacy Murray

Stacy’s an artist fueled by color, nature, and a touch of fantasy. She paints, carves, and crafts with whatever medium feels right that day. From designing weathervanes and carving pumpkins to restoring furniture or just making art for fun, creativity is pretty much who she is.
William Froude

William Froude

William is a Canadian painter based in East Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. Working in oil and watercolor, he captures coastal life, local history, and maritime industry with bold color and a grounded, approachable style.
Zoey Russell

Zoey Russell

Zoey’s art is inspired by the silly things in life that make her laugh. She doesn’t try to be serious or deliver deep messages for the few who see her work beyond tattoos. She’s not an economist, anthropologist, politician, or sociologist—whatever she thinks of the world, bedamned. She avoids insincerity, doesn’t care for gallery culture, and would rather smile when she can. The dumber the art, the better.
