Corey Hardeman, British Columbia

Corey Hardeman is an artist based in Prince George who will be representing British Columbia in the 2014 Art Battle National Championship.

Inspired by her home in the Boreal forest, and exploring themes of longing and impermanence, Corey’s work focuses on creating a sense of identity through place. Painting representationally, but with an infusion of abstraction and colour, her works are alive with movement.

The winner of our Price George event in September, Corey qualified for the Vancouver Regional Finals, and emerged as a dark horse contender beating out 15 Vancouver Winners and All-Stars and earning her right to paint again in the Nationals alongside Canada’s top live painters.
