Xi Wu is a Philadelphia-based painter, draftsman, and printer who predominantly explores landscapes and figures in a symbolic manner, creating a surreal sensation. After eight years away from China and six years of artistic exploration, Wu has evolved into a symbolist painter with tonalist influences. Their artwork evokes a surreal sense of serenity, inviting viewers to contemplate introspective musings on the self and profound concepts of existence.

Amy is a commissioned artist known for her mixed media portraits of pets, loved ones, and homes. She excels in crocheting and upcycled projects and is skilled in painting, where she incorporates symbolism into portraits. With 12 years of teaching experience, Amy runs a studio teaching a wide range of ages. Her creativity extends to watercolor, acrylics, colored pencil, and crafting 3D objects from paper and recycled materials.

I run a studio at cherry street pier. I teach art classes to all ages. I also make commission paintings of people’s loved ones, homes, or pets. In my personal work, I’m interested in symbolism and portraiture.

Jihan A. Thomas is a black visual artist, artivist, mother, and community/museum arts educator based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. To Jihan, art can be a conduit for empowerment and self-actualization. She shares her art and creativity wherever art is needed throughout Philadelphia through art making and cultural experiences. As an art educator, Jihan believes in the power and spectrum of black imagination and how it can support classroom student engagement in learning.
