My journey as an artist began as a search for presence - a way to translate stillness and energy into form. Born in Cape Town and now based in Melbourne, I've always been drawn to the spaces where emotion meets colour, where gesture becomes a language of its own. Painting, for me, is both meditative and physical: an unfolding dialogue between breath, movement, and intuition. Grounded in the daily practices of Ashtanga yoga and meditation, my process unfolds through rhythm and flow. Each work begins without a plan, emerging through layered pigment and texture that mirror shifting states of being. I'm fascinated by how colour can hold emotion - how it can vibrate, soothe, or stir something wordless within us. Influenced by Helen Frankenthaler, Cy Twombly, and Mark Rothko, I approach abstraction as a space of openness and connection. My recent residency at the Berlin Art Institute deepened this exploration, reminding me that creation is both personal and universal - an invitation to pause, to feel, and to remember the simple act of being alive.
I'm a second year Fine Art student who has since spent my time extensively practicing painting and photography. My works have often veered into exploring the self, with a focus on my personal experiences that required a journey of self discovery to finally accept. Combining performance, digital and traditional painting methods, I transform what was once traumatic into a celebration of my own self worth. I'm currently interested in my personal dreamscape, that often communicates stagnancy and suppressed fears.

Hello! My name is Siena Carusi and I'm an abstract visual artist based in Melbourne/Naarm Australia. The majority of my work consists of using 2D mixed media mediums such as acrylic, watercolour and ink, however I allow room for different mediums and forms too. I believe my work is a manifestation of developmental challenges I faced as a child. Growing I had hearing issues which impacted my ability to communicate, socialise and process information. However, I believe that what the body lacks it makes up for it in other areas which for me was visuals. Because I knew visuals was my strength, I became obsessed with anything that could help me use my voice. Whether is was drawing, body language, journaling, colours, music, etc.
Iβm an artist, art teacher, illustrator, and graphic designer who creates artwork that bridges imagination and reality with a touch of surrealism. My work translates creative concepts into striking visuals for album covers, childrenβs books, posters, billboards, and beyond; blending storytelling, emotion, and design into pieces that captivate and connect with audience. Iβm inspired by the beauty in everyday moments, light, movement, emotion, and the way stories unfold in ordinary spaces.
