I am a 27 year old artist from Kingston Ontario living in Toronto. I’m a former business school graduate and football player turned artist. I’m heavily inspired by music and album art as major motifs in my art. A few of my major inspirations are Quasimoto, Bladee, and MF Doom, as well as visual artists Jeff Jank and Wharfie boy. I typically use Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas but will experiment with other mediums from time to time.

About Juan Pablo Briggs

Juan Pablo Briggs, a Colombian-born creative, is a multidisciplinary artist whose skills are not bound by one medium. His creative pursuits have been largely inspired by his rugged and uncertain early life. As a result, he brings a level of honest passion into his creative process. The key to Pablo's success is his outgoing attitude, which continues to position him for exciting opportunities.

Through Sick Muse Arts, Pablo led creative workshops in Zimbabwe and Colombia, collaborating with local and global artists on community murals that celebrate the rich heritage of each place.

"In my view, life is inseparable from art. Being an artist mirrors the hero’s journey—each day a call to adventure. Authentic creation is our greatest gift; a bold declaration of individuality and courage."

My background is in civil engineering, but I've been drawing and painting ever since I was a little girl and actually wanted to be an animator growing up. My artistic style consists mainly of realism and still-life. Pencils and Acyrlics are my favourite two mediums! When i'm not drawing or painting, you can find me kicking back with a book and iced coffee on the couch.

I'm one of those kids who did not stop doodling just because they got older. I don't have formal education in art but for the last 10 years I've been taking classes ranging from figure drawing and acrylic landscapes to comic book art and polymer clay figure making. I love exploring new mediums and challenging myself, I always seek to preserve the play element in art making.

My roots trace back to Mauritius, a small African island nation in the Indian Ocean. Generations ago, my ancestors were brought to India in the early 1900s—a legacy of migration that continues to shape my identity. Art has always been an inseparable part of who I am. From an early age, I was drawn to bold colors, intricate patterns, and the vibrant textures that surrounded me. Growing up in India, I was especially enchanted by the elegance of textiles, the delicate artistry of embroidery, and the timeless frescoes of Rajasthan and Agra. These early impressions continue to inspire and inform my creative journey today.

My practice is multidisciplinary and grounded in an exploration of identity, transformation, and shared humanity. Shaped by my bi-ethnic heritage and ancestral roots in Mauritius and India, my work draws from lived experience, migration, and cultural memory. From an early age, I was influenced by bold color, intricate pattern, and the tactile richness of textiles, embroidery, and traditional Indian art forms—visual languages that continue to inform my practice today.

With an advanced diploma in Fashion Design and Woven Design, I bring material knowledge and technical precision into my work while critically engaging with the environmental and social impact of fast fashion. I work across painting, mixed media, sculpture, and installation, often incorporating upcycled textiles, discarded garments, ceramics, and found objects. Materials destined for landfill become central to my process, carrying embedded histories that I reassemble into one-of-a-kind works that speak to renewal, resilience, and regeneration.
I create because I need to. It grounds me, connects me to my inner self, and allows me to express what words cannot. Art is not just something I do; it is an extension of my life, a fundamental part of my existence. Through my practice, I examine the intersection of identity, society, and transformation, seeking to connect individual stories to universal themes. I bring both creative expression and practical application into dialogue, blending aesthetics with purpose to create work that is both visually compelling and deeply thoughtful.

Thank you for taking the time to read and connect with my story. Every piece I create is infused with intention, and each tells a unique story. I hope that through my work, you find a connection, a reflection of your own human experience.

I love the high energy feeling of live painting and think artists vibe off each other's creativity in a room together. What an incredible atmosphere to challenge oneself and unite with other artists with love for creative expression!
I have been painting live for over a year now and it is the most thrilling way fore to paint the way I do. Usually spontaneously, without a plan; moving with the energy of music and the vibe in the room I create in the moment and usually with my hands rather than a brush.
